Toggle Perks
Quote from Hewy on February 13, 2026, 6:34 pmLately I have been interested in making the game more exciting by playing with self-imposed limitations. Along these lines, it would be fun to disable perks that are on by default to return to a more vanilla-like experience, or disable all the XP perks altogether.

Quote from Hewy on March 19, 2026, 12:40 pmThank you for following up Kevin! Breaking down the perks they generally fall into:
- damage reduction / combat (bonus HP/no bleed/no fall/ etc.)
- QoL (waterless sprinklers, teleports, UI backpack, restore inventory, recycler speed, etc.)
- Spawnable items
- weapon
- vehicles
- equipment (eg. /waterpump)
- Meta (/sil , /skinbox , /sd etc.
For what I was thinking, I'd want to temporarily disable the damage reduction or combat related perks. I can self regulate my use of (most of) the other perks. A command like /hardmode that turns it on/off would be ideal!
One could go further and include the QoL perks (or even just some of them) but that makes more sense on a per-wipe basis I suppose for players that want to grind it out. I don't think it makes sense to disable spawnable items or meta mod commands, though if it is easiest to drop someone to level 0 no perks at all (and allow them to go back) I guess that would be sufficient as well.
Thank you so much Kevin!
