Chad drop rates

I'll start by saying that multiple people asked me to make this post. I know balancing them is an ongoing thing, and its not a complaint just giving feedback, but the overall consensus this wipe is that drops rates suck. With the veng kilt coming out soon, I fear it'll be even harder to get geared up. Maybe raise elite drop rates more
(some people did ten of them yesterday and didn't get anything)? Maybe raise the raid rates more? Personally, my team doesn't even bother with raids, unless we're exp farming towards the end of wipe, because the drop rate is so poor.

I'm sure you'll figure something out, just wanted to share the feelings shared by many because you cant be all knowing.

Also wanted to add onto this. It would be great if Elite was locked to TC. This wipe it felt pretty unfair seeing people use public Chad towers just to avoid base damage. I get being resourceful, but it kind of defeats the point when it can be done by just hopping into someone else's tower.

It is Elite, it's supposed to be challenging. And it's definitely possible to take it without using public towers, even if you're solo. People just took the easy route because they could. TC-locking it would keep the risk/reward balanced and make sure people actually commit to their own setup instead of getting "free Elite" from a public tower.

There are many high pop servers with public heli tower prefabs. If anything I'd like to see some of those added to the map. The fun from heli is the gatcha and shooting the heli down before it leaves, not building a hqm tower and pressing the repair button on the TC while on cooldown. The way it is now gives you to option to make it harder if you want. I don't see how it's unfair if people choose to use public towers, an option available to everyone, yourself included.

And Trotts I agree the rates need some tweaking. I don't even care if I get the drops I want from my own helis, but we're days from wipe and I've seen maybe one person selling a reaper this whole time. Maybe a handful of veng and oblivions. It's a short wipe, probably not as many ppl doing them, but it still seems too dry.

These shared Chad towers have been pretty annoying for me this wipe, as my base has had a few built around me. There are nonstop Chad attacks going on sometimes lasting more than an hour. Causes a lot of lag for me.
mid there are going to be shared Chad towers they should be bound to a small area of the map.
I have to turn my sound off sometimes because I have 2-3 chads going all around me. Plus getting caught in the crossfire and napalm sucks!

I think you’re missing my point. I’m not saying people can’t use public towers. I’m saying that being able to bypass the base-damage risk defeats the entire purpose of Elite Chads. The challenge is supposed to come from managing your base and the heli, not just sitting somewhere safe and shooting. And on the “you can make it harder if you want” idea, I don’t really see why that should even be an option when Elite is literally designed to damage your base. The base-risk isn’t a bonus difficulty toggle, it’s the core mechanic that defines the difficulty.

Also, saying the challenge is just “shooting it down before it leaves” actually proves my point. You’re supposed to be doing that while also dealing with the base damage and repairs. Removing that part turns Elite into Hard Chad with none of the risk it’s supposed to have.

If you don’t want your base taking damage, then Hard Chad already exists for that playstyle, and it still has a chance to drop legendaries. Elite is meant to be the top-tier challenge. If the hardest Chad event can be done without the core mechanic, then it stops feeling like Elite and just turns into Hard Chad with better loot.

Okay I'm gonna cut through all the bullshit and just get right down to it. Other people taking the slightly easier and less annoying route of doing the elite without worrying about base damage, is something that doesn't affect you, at all. If someone wants the pure challenge, they can still do it with their own tower. But trying to enforce that universally just removes flexibility and fun for the majority who are there to unwind, not to prove something.

IMO Kevin should continue to let players choose their challenge level. Tweak loot to keep things rewarding, but don’t overregulate how people approach events. This is a PVE server first. We're here to have fun. People doing heli different from how you want them to, doesn't dilute your experience at all.

And Mystic I agree with you which is why I would like to see public tower prefabs off to one corner of the map or something. People would still be free to make their own tower but if there are already towers ready to use off in narnia, most people will go there.

yeah i am currently 15 helis dry

I understand that a good portion of the playerbase enjoys building their villages out and decorating and hosting events and what not that consumes a lot of their play time and doesn't leave them a lot of time for farming gear but there's also a decent chunk of the playerbase that plays for the pvm gear chase aspect to consider which even with current Heli rates has been heavily impacted by the ease of getting legendaries now.

If anything I think Heli drop rate should be nerfed to the rates of their respective difficulty raids as another avenue of acquisition in between raid cooldowns, not buffed. Look at the amount of excess legendaries being sold during the wipes since they were added to helis compared to before. It's made raiding to hunt for legendaries pointless as the drop rate is much much higher

Took all of 3 days to be fully kitted this wipe with plenty of duplicate pieces despite me complaining about dry streaks. Was a great addition to alleviate monument pressure and supplement gearing speed but I think perhaps a little too generous on the drops.

I agree with Noctyra though that being not authed on someone elses tower completely trivialize elites (Im guilty of doing some kills like this myself). Letting people "choose their challenge level" is hard VS elite not cheesing elite Vs not... Some people enjoy farming and selling legendaries so cheesing does actually effect other people when legendary prices go dirt cheap due to excess from people cheesing elites that otherwise wouldn't be killing them.

Tldr: nobodies fun should come at the expense of someone elses and all player type dynamics considered I think Kevin has done a pretty good job of balancing the pvm and I think loot buffs would be detrimental to quite a few players experience and as much as my preference would be to see heli loot nerfs that may not be the right play either. Do hard agree with the elite Heli tower cheese being fixed though. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Edit #216: balancing drops around a longer cooldown might be the answer everyone is looking for. Maybe slightly more frequent drops but less spammable for the grinders, and the server sounds like less of a war zone.

Thank you Dustin, Berlin, ehbiwtf, Noctyra, mystic mustache and Trotts for the suggestions and feedback.

We boosted the drop chance for legendary weapons and gear for out Elite attack heli event: https://relicpve.com/forums/topic/wipe-updates-for-november-2025/

I will see what I can do as far as a check for tower auth before a signal/event starts.
